BioRePeel Glasgow: What It Is, Who It Suits, and What to Expect
BioRePeel is a TCA-based chemical peel that works without visible peeling or downtime. It combines 35% trichloroacetic acid with amino acids, vitamins and salicylic acid, and is applied for around 5–15 minutes depending on your skin. Most people return to work the same day. At EpidermFx in Bothwell, it's one of the most requested treatments for dull, congested or uneven skin.
How does BioRePeel work?
BioRePeel is a two-phase peel. The lipophilic phase carries the active ingredients through the skin's surface; the hydrophilic phase delivers amino acids, vitamins and hydration. That combination is why it exfoliates and stimulates cell turnover without the flaking associated with traditional TCA peels.
In practice, it does three things: loosens the bonds between dead surface cells, encourages fibroblast activity in the dermis, and reduces surface congestion through its salicylic acid content.
Who is BioRePeel suitable for?
It tends to suit people with:
Dull, tired-looking skin with uneven texture
Congestion, enlarged-looking pores and mild comedonal acne
Early fine lines and loss of radiance
Superficial post-inflammatory pigmentation
A job or social calendar that rules out visible peeling
It's less appropriate if you have active inflammatory acne with open lesions, a compromised skin barrier, active eczema or rosacea flares, or if you're pregnant or breastfeeding. It's also not the right first choice for deep ice-pick scarring that usually needs a different approach, such as TCA CROSS or medical microneedling.
Does BioRePeel hurt, and is there downtime?
Most people describe a tingling or mild prickling sensation that builds over the application and settles within a minute of removal. There's typically some redness for a few hours.
True downtime is minimal. You may get light flaking around the nose and mouth on days two to four, but the visible sheet-peeling people associate with chemical peels isn't characteristic of this treatment.

How many sessions will I need?
A single session gives a noticeable glow, which is why it's popular before events. For sustained change in texture and tone, a course of four to six sessions spaced 7–14 days apart is standard, followed by maintenance every 6–8 weeks, which is why the 4-session course (£300, saving £100 on single-session pricing) is the option most people book from the outset.
Results depend heavily on what you do at home between sessions. Skin treated with a peel and then left without sun protection or appropriate actives will not hold its improvement.
How much does BioRePeel cost?
Single session (face): £100
4-session course (face): £300 — saving £100 versus paying per session
4-session course, face & neck: £360 (£90 per session)
4-session course, face, neck & décolletage: £420
Single session (body): £100
The 4-session face course is the natural starting point for most people — a single session gives a nice glow before an event, but sustained improvement in texture and tone needs the course, and it's £100 cheaper than booking four sessions individually. If pigmentation or texture concerns extend past the jawline, the face & neck or face, neck & décolletage packages keep everything treated evenly rather than leaving a visible line of demarcation at the neck.

What should I use at home afterwards?
For the first 48 hours: a gentle cleanser, a barrier-supporting moisturiser containing ceramides or panthenol, and broad-spectrum SPF 30–50 every morning.
Pause retinoids, acids and physical exfoliants. After that, the right actives depend on your concern: a pigmentation-focused routine looks different from an acne-focused one.
This is where medical-grade formulations earn their place: higher concentrations of stabilised actives, better delivery systems, and dosing you can't buy off a high-street shelf.
Ask Ivanna during your appointment and we'll build the routine around what your skin actually needs.
Why have BioRePeel at EpidermFx?
EpidermFx is led by Ivanna Glover, trained Ukrainian pharmacist with a background in pharmaceutical and medical sciences.
Every treatment starts with an assessment of what's actually happening in your skin rather than a menu selection, which matters, because the wrong peel on the wrong skin can set pigmentation back by months.
The clinic is at 21 Main Street, Bothwell, a short drive from Uddingston, Hamilton, Motherwell and central Glasgow.
Frequently asked questions
Can I have BioRePeel if I have melasma?
Sometimes, but it needs careful assessment first. Melasma is influenced by hormones, UV and visible light, and aggressive treatment can worsen it. Book a consultation before booking a peel.
Can I combine BioRePeel with other treatments?
Yes. It's often paired with Dermalux LED therapy in the same appointment to support recovery, or alternated with microneedling in a longer plan.
How soon before an event should I have it?
Five to seven days gives the best result. Avoid booking it for the day before, in case of light flaking.
Is BioRePeel safe for darker skin tones?
It can be, but risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation rises with deeper Fitzpatrick types and depends on your history. This is assessed individually.
Is it cheaper to book the BioRePeel course than pay per session?
Yes. Four single sessions would cost £400; the 4-session face course is £300, a £100 saving. If you want face, neck and décolletage treated together, that's £420 for all three areas across four sessions — working out cheaper per area than booking them separately.
